Skynyrd's Story...
Skynyrd was found living under a bush outside my office in Downtown Chattanooga in the middle of the hot, hot summer. Despite the heat, he bypassed the water we offered him and came straight towards us--only to roll over to have his belly rubbed. He is an extremely sweet, submissive, optimistic and content dog. Even though he has had steady meals for quite some time now, he still lies in front of his food and wags his tail the whole time he eats--and he eats slowly and savors every bite! Skynyrd a chocolate lab/pit bull mix weighing approx 60 lbs. He is neutered and is up to date on all shots. We have kept him on Frontline and Interceptor. He does well with all female dogs and some males--while Skynyrd is a lover and not a fighter, he will defend himself if provoked. In his ideal home, he would be an only dog. We have not had him around children, but he does well around most people. When he gets excited, his first instinct is to wrap his arms around the waist of whoever is closest, so he would probably do better with older children, rather than infants/toddlers. He has been kept as an indoor-outdoor dog and is housebroken. Skynyrd will make an excellent companion and watch dog for the right person or family--he looks tough, but is a pushover at heart! Spay/Neuter, shots, worming and bordatella are all included in the adoption fee. For more information on this 'dog' please call Judy at 423-893-5474 or 718-0939. Save a rescued dog TODAY!
