Dash's Story...
Dash has a real working dog attitude: he is highly attuned to his environment and not at all needy in the human attention department. Sometimes this can be a problematic combination but we pushed and prodded Dash forwards and backwards in his temperament test without a single negative reaction. He loves treats and will follow you anywhere if you've got a "cookie," which is a great trait when it comes to training. He was probably a back yard dog so many of his current traits are most likely from lack of socialization. He is athletic and will need ample exercise and stimulation. At this point, he's dog reactive so he'll need to be on leash in public places and will need someone willing to teach him the dos and don'ts that he never learned. He's best suited to a home with kids 12 and up and would make a great hiking, biking, jogging partner.

Act quickly to adopt Dash. Pets at this Shelter may be held for only a short time.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Dash, a Berkeley Border Collie/American Pit Bull Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Border Collie/American Pit Bull Terrier for sale in Berkeley, or seeking a Border Collie/American Pit Bull Terrier dog from a breeder in Berkeley.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Berkeley already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Berkeley breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Border Collie/American Pit Bull Terrier breeders who help with Border Collie/American Pit Bull Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Berkeley paves the way for another one to be saved.
