Hercules's Story...
Hercules is a tan, neutered male chihuahua. He was born mid-November, 2004, and weighs 7 pounds. He was hit by a car and April 23, he underwent surgery. His back leg had to be amputated and the femur was repaired on his other back leg. His foster parent will hold a towel under him for support when he goes outdoors. He is a precious little thing. He should be healed by mid-June. NOTE: These pictures were taken prior to his amputation. Hercules will not be at our Saturday adoption sites. This dog cannot be adopted out of state. If you are interested in Hercules, please call Penny Adams at 619-466-0426.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Hercules, a Spring Valley Chihuahua puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in Spring Valley, or seeking a Chihuahua puppy from a breeder in Spring Valley.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Spring Valley already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Spring Valley breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Spring Valley paves the way for another one to be saved.
