My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

UPDATE: This is what Izzie's foster mom has to say about her - "Izzie is definitely a special girl. She is completely deaf which makes it very easy to vacuum and make loud noises without her ever becoming scared. She also sleeps very soundly because she can't hear. On several occasions we have caught Izzie watching TV. Once she knows we are in the room, Izzie meows very loudly to get our attention and then trots over to us. She is definitely a lap cat and will sleep curled in my lap while I watch TV, even if another cat is already there...Izzie doesn't care. She is very easy going and very playful. Izzie is such a joy and I know she will make someone very happy because she is so loving and affectionate. She never bites or scratches and craves as much love and attention as she can get."
ORIGINAL:Izzie is a solid white blue eyed 8 month old Siamese or Oriental mix. Her special need is that she is DEAF. She needs to be an indoor only kitty because the outside world is not safe for her. Annie, Izzie, and Sonja are sisters. They can all be adopted separately and are not bonded to each other. Although Annie and Izzie are solid white we feel that they are of Siamese or Oriental lineage for several reasons: their sister Sonja has the Siamese coloration and markings, all 3 have blue eyes and all 3 girls are very petite and lanky with the angular features typical of the Siamese and oriental breeds. They came to rescue about 6 months ago very sick and malnourished with respiratory and skin infections. We didn't know if they would survive. Izzie is the most outgoing of the 3 girls. She is very loving and runs to you when she spots you across the room. Izzie loves to follow people around the house and she is very energetic and playful. She loves to play with shadows and toys and to watch the birds and leaves blow outside the windows. She is a petite girl weighing only about 4 lbs. These 3 girls have been in a foster home with other cats so they would do fine if introduced to a home that already has cats. They have also been around older children experienced with handling kittens so we feel Izzie would do fine with kids. She is also fine with dogs but she would need to be with a very cat friendly dog since she would not hear a warning growl made by a dog. Izzie is not on any medications and as long as she was kept in a safe indoor environment she will do great. Please contact us If you are interested in meeting or adopting Annie, Izzie, or Sonja. You can e-mail us at spcagainesville@hotmail.com for an adoption questionnaire and to learn more about our adoption process. All of our cats and kittens have been leukemia tested, vaccinated, vet checked, dewormed, treated for fleas with advantage, spayed or neutered, and microchipped prior to adoption. Our adoption fee is $100 per cat or kitten to help cover a portion of the medical and care costs.
