matty's Story...
: This little guy came into the SPCA in Stanton as a stray. He was a mess, he wasn’t very friendly and was completely covered with matted hair. Well who would be friendly when your that matted, that can cause a lot of pain. He couldn’t see because the hair infront of his eyes was all matted. Well after a few days there he began to come around. The SPCA shaved him completely down to his skin, the dog which looked to be 20 lbs was really a extremely skinny little thing. He is a young guy probably under two years old. He doesn’t look pretty now but soon enough his coat will grow back and as long as he is groomed regularly he will be a good lookin boy. Now named Matty, he is turning out to be a doll, very sweet and loving. Just happy to be able to move and see again. He is very new to our program so we will post more as we know it.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

matty, a Wilmington Lhasa Apso dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Lhasa Apso for sale in Wilmington, or seeking a Lhasa Apso dog from a breeder in Wilmington.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Wilmington already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Wilmington breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Lhasa Apso breeders who help with Lhasa Apso rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Wilmington paves the way for another one to be saved.
