Gordy's Story...
I’m Gordy. I came to FOHA by way of…well, no one’s quite certain. I just showed up in a carrier in the FOHA driveway one day. Perhaps my family was moving away and couldn’t take me with them. Perhaps my owner lost his or her job. Maybe I was abducted by aliens and dropped in the FOHA driveway – no one can be sure. And me, I’m keeping my mouth quiet about the whole thing. I like being a man of mystery. What’s not a mystery, though, is what I’m seeking – a new home of my own. I permanent home this time around, please! Sitting in a driveway in a box is more than a bit undignified and embarrassing! Let’s see – what else can I tell you about moi? I’m an orange tabby – we’re known for being a pretty darn friendly sort. I’m a good-sized guy, as you can tell by my photo. Yep, I do a couple of reps at the gym from time to time. I take good care of my coat – yep, well-groomed. Handsome. Neutered. Did I say handsome? Well, you get the picture. So, come on out to FOHA to meet me and say “hey!”

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Gordy, a Aldie Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Aldie, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Aldie.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Aldie already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Aldie breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Aldie paves the way for another one to be saved.
