Rufus's Story...
Rufus is a cute and sweet and friendly young dog that is just so eager (and able!) to please and to learn. In just a matter of days this dog has learned how to heel and walk nicely on leash and has started to learn basic commands such as "sit" and "lie down". He gets along well with other dogs and is also learning how to play nicely and with "good manners'. We are still waiting to find out how he is with cats and children but chances are, with his good nature, he will be good! We don't expect him to get alot bigger....so he will most likely stay a nice medium-sized dog forever!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Rufus, a Berkeley Labrador Retriever/American Pit Bull Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever/American Pit Bull Terrier for sale in Berkeley, or seeking a Labrador Retriever/American Pit Bull Terrier dog from a breeder in Berkeley.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Berkeley already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Berkeley breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever/American Pit Bull Terrier breeders who help with Labrador Retriever/American Pit Bull Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Berkeley paves the way for another one to be saved.
