Donde's Story...
Dondé esta mi familia? Okay, just kidding. I don’t speak Spanish, but my name means “where” in Spanish. So “where,” you may ask, is my family? Well, I had a home and you won’t believe what happened. One of my family members tripped and fell on top of me when I was sleeping. Obviously it startled me, and it didn’t feel great either, so I made the mistake of growling to let them know “hey, that hurt!” Since we dogs can’t speak “human,” barking and growling are the only ways we can verbally communicate. So anyway, my family decided I was a bad dog because I didn’t like people falling on top of me. Well, really, do you like people falling on top of you? I didn’t think so! I guess I should have just taken it all lying down. Get it? Lying down? And I was lying down when it happened. All right, so what else can I tell you? Let’s see, I’m good with other dogs, I’m housetrained, I’m good in the car, I’ve had some basic obedience training, I have a winning personality, and I’d like new home that doesn’t mind when a fellow voices his opinion. Is that too much to ask? APPLICATION PENDING!!! (Please Note: I can only be adopted in the DC Metropolitant area. There will be no exceptions to this policy.)

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Donde, a Aldie Collie dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Collie for sale in Aldie, or seeking a Collie dog from a breeder in Aldie.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Aldie already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Aldie breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Collie breeders who help with Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Aldie paves the way for another one to be saved.
