Maya's Story...
My story: My name is Maya and I just love to be around people. I purr as soon as I hear them open the door. My former parents probably didn't realize I wasn't in the car when they moved out, because, I don't mean to be conceited, but I am just so loving and caring for them to purposely leave me behind. I walked around the neighborhood for weeks, saying hi to everybody, asking for some scratches, until it started to get cold, and I lost some weight. Luckily, my foster parents found me and took me to their home where I was fed and soon after, vetted. I am now ready for my new loving home. I am very confident that I can be the perfect addition to your great family.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Maya, a Tampa Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Tampa, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Tampa.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Tampa already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Tampa breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Tampa paves the way for another one to be saved.
