Victor's Story...

ADOPTION PENDING!

Victor is a 3 year old Shih Tzu who came into foster care yesterday after being neutered. His new foster mother is just learning about him but so far he is a wonderful dog. He has had no accidents in the house and seems to be house trained and knows what to do when he goes outside. Victor hasn't barked yet -- sometimes he makes a little squeeky noise to get your attention. He slept all night in bed with his new foster mom and his other two canine siblings. The dogs get along fine together as they are all small. We're not sure as yet how he reacts to large dogs or cats. Victor shows no aggression when his canine siblings warn him off with a little growl if he is getting too much attention. Victor has been neutered, heartworm tested negative and is fully vetted.

As HAHS now has adoptions in several locations, please contact Barb at ssebright@aol.com or 816-272-5048 to find out when and where you can meet VICTOR!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Victor, a Overland Park Shih Tzu dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shih Tzu for sale in Overland Park, or seeking a Shih Tzu dog from a breeder in Overland Park.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Overland Park already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Overland Park breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shih Tzu breeders who help with Shih Tzu rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Overland Park paves the way for another one to be saved.
