Keno's Story...
Keno is one of the sweetest male Akitas to find himself in a shelter in Buffalo Minnesota and unfortately Heartworm Positive. Keno is between 4 and 5 and he is a red with a light sandy undercoat. Keno was pulled from the shelter and he has received his first Heartworm treatment and is recuperating from that in a wonderful foster home in Buffalo Minnesota. He will get his Minnesota spa treatment and will gain some much needed weight along with his health. He will be ready for adoption in a month or so. Keno has immaculate kennel and house manners and knows basic obedience. He will be a very beautiful boy once he is healthy and groomed. Won't you take a moment to look at this boy and see the potential there just waiting to show itself. Watch for Keno's Extreme Makeover! contact Deanna O'Brien at or 773-792-1309 for further information.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Keno, a Chicago Akita dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Akita for sale in Chicago, or seeking a Akita dog from a breeder in Chicago.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Chicago already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Chicago breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Akita breeders who help with Akita rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Chicago paves the way for another one to be saved.
