Chico's Story...
Hey there! My name is Chico and I have just arrived in Calgary on November 19th, 2009! I am about 1 1/2 years old and 12-14 lbs. I'm a little shy at first with those I don't know and am not a fan of really young kids. I am affectionate and loving with those I know and trust and am easy to love! I am already housetrained and can't wait to find a family of my own!

Please note that Little Mutts Rescue adoption fees are generally $400 for adults, and $450 for puppies. Includes spay / neuter, up-to-date on vaccinations, microchip, and a vet certificate of health (please note that if puppies are born in Calgary, we do not have a vet certificate to provide). If you are interested, please submit an adoption application - http://www.littlemuttsrescue.org/adopt/index.html

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Chico, a Calgary Shih Tzu dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shih Tzu for sale in Calgary, or seeking a Shih Tzu dog from a breeder in Calgary.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Calgary already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Calgary breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shih Tzu breeders who help with Shih Tzu rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Calgary paves the way for another one to be saved.
