My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

5 year old Yoda is looking for his own Luke Skywalker and/or Princess Leia to love him furever. This is his 2nd heartbreaking time in rescue. Adopted out by another group, he was returned after 3 years because the people "didn't have time for him" (shortly after they got a greyhound). Yoda is smart, well behaved, very loving, and funny. And a wonderful snuggler in bed.

What he isn't is reliably housebroken. This isn't uncommon with Pugs. They seem to need more patience than other breeds - and families that will spend the time to work with them, unlike poor Yoda. He was with me for 3 weeks before a more permanent foster home became available. I only caught him lifting his leg once during that time. I gave a verbal correction and he went out the open sliding door immediately. All he needs is repetitive reinforcement of his skills. A properly used bellyband will also help during those times when he needs to be left unattended for lengthy periods.

Yoda gets along wonderfully with other dogs, has no issues with cats, is good with respectful kids, and loves his little stuffy toys. He's a good eater, has no food aggression, and takes treats gently. All he wants in this life is to be loved - and he certainly deserves that.

Yoda is being fostered in Mays Landing, NJ and his asking adoption fee is $250.

E-MAIL INQUIRIES WILL BE RESPONDED TO MUCH FASTER THAN TELEPHONE CALLS.

NOTE: Due to the volatile price of gas, getting multiple volunteers to help with long distance transporting is no longer feasible. We have listed the town and state where each dog is being fostered. Please consider how far you are willing to travel when filling out the application. The foster home will usually volunteer to help with transport for a reasonable distance.
