Penny's Story...
Sweet and petite smooth sable female is now a certified housedog and couch potato. This girl was turned in to the shelter because her owner had "no time" (whatever that means).
Dear Penny was an outdoor dog for most of her life, but she has decided that being in the house is much better. Even though she had not been around other dogs or cats in the past, she co-exists quite well with the cats in her foster home. She still doesn't play well with other dogs, so will need to be placed as an only dog. Although timid and shy initially, she has blossomed into a delightful, girl who loves to play fetch with her toys!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Penny, a Gardena Collie dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Collie for sale in Gardena, or seeking a Collie dog from a breeder in Gardena.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Gardena already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Gardena breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Collie breeders who help with Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Gardena paves the way for another one to be saved.
