My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Porter is a 1 year old boy that came from a partner shelter after being found as a stray. By the pictures that were taken when he first came into rescue, you can tell this poor guy has had a rough start in life and was in pretty bad condition. He was found with his ears raw and bleeding and they had to be surgically repaired. He definitely needed to gain some much needed weight while in foster care too.

B.A.R.C. is currently rehabilitating Porter and hopes to find him his forever home soon. Donations are always greatly appreciated which allows us to help not only Porter, but other homeless Boxers in the same situation. Porter is being fostered by Lea in Milton, FL.

Updates from foster home:
Porter has had his stitches removed and is starting to look and feel better. His ears are really cute, as one flops over and the other one stands up! He gets along great with his foster sisters and loves playing with his toys especially the squeaky ones. Porter would either do well in a home with other dogs or being the only dog as long as he has his special squeaky toys. He still needs to gain some weight and is working on the art of becoming crate and house-trained. Porter is very smart and is picking up commands very well. He also walks good on the leash and likes to cuddle too.

Porter is doing great and is such a sweet little man! He likes to be with you and involved all the time whether you're working out or doing dishes. He loves to play ball in the yard and chew on Kong toys. Porter is an excellent jogging partner too! He went camping with his foster family and did great in the canoe. He is also really good on long car rides, as he sleeps most of the way. He is now housebroken, and working on his crate training as he gets anxious when his foster mom leaves the house. He is quite "springy" so a full size fence is neccessary for this love bug!
