My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Julianne, 5 yr old female calico Persian

November, 2012, update: Julianne:

In 2009. Julianne came into foster with me along with a gorgeous littler of 8 week old kittens . The kittens grew and went to their new lucky homes. Julianne was adopted and started living a pampered life without the cares of motherhood . Unfortunately her new human's job relocated her from the country of Carmel to the streets of San Francisco. Her mom called and told me she had to move and she was worried about her darling. Julianne's favorite thing in life was going out into her secured backyard and sniffing the flowers. What would she do on the 15 th floor of an apartment complex in the City? I said, " Well, give it a try; she'll still have you" It didn't work. The loss of outside privileges and her mom's longer absences from home made lovely Julianne depressed and blue. She was just returned back to me. She is in fabulous shape.

Julianne is a cat friendly girl who loves human attention. Daily brushing sessions get her purring and rolling on her back. She is a calico so she has lots of confidence and opinions on things. She wants a home with a human who has a yard she can lounge in. Yes I know this is somewhat unusual for a long haired Persian. It is probably how she was raised - her beautiful kittens were not the result of a careful breeding session if you know what I mean. At least two handsome males had been busy so I am assuming she was outside as a child bride.

Her little pink tongue is usually visible. So cute.

She eats dry food and currently is not interested in wet, though she used to be, and is litterbox perfect.

Her foster mom is Harriet in Santa Cruz.

Original entry:
Alot of people don't know that without skilled human help many
persian kittens don't live past their first week of life. The kitty
moms are often clueless and careless and the kittens just " fail to
thrive". Well this is not true of this Persian mother, Julianne.
Named for the queen mother of Denmark, Julianne has been a devoted and
very competent mother to her colorful litter of kittens. With great
ease she extends a paw, catches a kitten on the fly and, pinning her
down, gives her an all over body bath. She has been fun to watch.

She is fun in general. She loves people and comes right up and
standing on her hind feet reaches up to ask to be picked up and held.
She is a very affectionate cat. Very good natured. Her coat is soft
and has grown thick and lush since I got her. She came in a little
thin and depleted from feeding her 5 kittens on perhaps not quite
enough food.

Now she is quite the beauty .Her tiny pink tongue sticks out a
little almost all the time. The photos show the wonderful and very
unusual spots she has passed on to her cute kittens. Now the time is
coming she herself should be pampered and cosseted in her new home.

It is hard not to admire her looks but her personality is the most
appealing part of her. Everyone who has seen her has fallen for her
and I have had to say "Oh no, she has important work to do caring
for her kittens You can't have her". That is changing. I am going to
adopt her with at least one of her kittens. She is so attached to
them all. Her spay is scheduled for this first week of December and
it seems kind of a shame to spay her.

She eats wet and dry food and is litterbox perfect.

She is a super nice little girl. Someone will be very lucky to have
her and her kitten(s) join their family.

Her foster mom is Harriet in Santa Cruz
