Linus's Info...

I am already neutered, purebred, and up to date with shots.

Linus's Story...
Linus is a medium sized dog, approximately four-years-old and weighs 48lbs. He looks like a small American Bulldog but his ears are cropped in the style of the Cane Corso Italiano. Linus has a great medium energy level and enjoys playing and petting in equal measure. He is very treat motivated, which is a boon during training sessions, and takes all treats with a gentle mouth. Despite his tough guy looks Linus can be a little timid with new people or in unfamiliar situations but quickly comes around. Linus is a classic case of don’t judge a books by its cover and he needs to be given the opportunity to meet people outside his pen so he can really shine and show off his gentle charm.
Please call the shelter 516-944-8220 during working hours (Mon. to Fri. 9AM-4PM; Sat. 10-4PM) for more information about Linus, the adoption process at the shelter, and to confirm availability. Please go to www.theshelterconnection.com for more information about and directions to the shelter.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Linus, a Port Washington American Pit Bull Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Pit Bull Terrier for sale in Port Washington, or seeking a American Pit Bull Terrier dog from a breeder in Port Washington.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Port Washington already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Port Washington breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Pit Bull Terrier breeders who help with American Pit Bull Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Port Washington paves the way for another one to be saved.
