My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Shanti was a stray when CARS was called to take her in. Shanti was adopted out to a lady in Dallas but was recently returned to us due to bladder control issues. Shanti received a blow to her left hip at some point during her stay in Dallas and came back to us favoring her left rear leg. Upon examination by our vet, it has been determined that she received a bad blow to her hip which caused the ball of her leg to come out of it's socket and is now permanantly out of socket. Shanti now has a new "socket" made of scar tissue that her body formed. She no longer has a ball or neck to her femur. However, she is weight bearing on her leg. Our vet says he would not suggest surgery since the goal of surgery is to help her bear weight on that leg and help aleviate pain. Well, she bears weight on it with no pain, so he said surgery would do more harm than good. Shanti is still a very sweet and loving girl and needs an extra special home to take her. She has had blood tests run which assure us that she has no problems with her kidneys, liver, etc. We are still trying to determine if she realy has a bladder control issue that may require medication or if she will grow out of it, or if she urinated so much because she was scared. Shanti's adoption fee is $100. Please email me for an adoption applicaiton if you are interested. She will need to be adopted in or around the Houston area so I can make home visits to ensure her safety and health (both physical and mental). Thanks for understanding. ..
