Shona's Story...
Read about Shona's Valentine's Day adventure!

Shona may be an older girl, but you wouldn't know it from her spunky attitude and her zest for life. She's ready to go when you are, happy to lead the way on a short walk through the park. Shona happily swerves from side to side, looking back every few minutes to see that you're enjoying the walk as much as she is. Shona appears to enjoy her walks so much that volunteers believe she doesn't even realize that she has problems with her back legs. In her kennel, Shona may not look like the happy, friendly dog that she is - but we assure you that once Shona steps out into the fresh air and sunshine, she becomes the gentle and very sweet tempered girl that volunteers have come to know her as. Ask to tag along on a walk with dear Shona and meet your new best friend---- this dear girl does well with cats, and just adores being around other dogs!

Act quickly to adopt Shona. Pets at this Shelter may be held for only a short time.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Shona, a Berkeley German Shepherd Dog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog for sale in Berkeley, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog dog from a breeder in Berkeley.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Berkeley already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Berkeley breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Berkeley paves the way for another one to be saved.
