Callie's Story...
I’m a sweet girl named Callie. I used to have a home, but my owners decided they didn’t want me anymore. See, they originally planned to breed me and make some money by selling my puppies. Boy was I glad when they decided against it. That is, until I realized their alternative plan—to dump me at the pound. So there I sat until a nice volunteer came to my rescue and brought me to FOHA. I’ve recently been spayed, so there will be no puppies in my future, which is okay by me. Not that I don’t like being with other dogs, I really do. I’m a smart girl and I’m affectionate, too. I love everyone, even kids. But since I’m a big girl and still youngster myself, I might be a bit too energetic for young children. Alas, I know the right family is out there for me. So, I’ll wait patiently for my new family to come meet me. Just please don’t keep me waiting too long. (Please Note: I can only be adopted in the DC Metropolitan area. There will be no exceptions to this policy.)

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Callie, a Aldie German Shepherd Dog/Collie dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog/Collie for sale in Aldie, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog/Collie dog from a breeder in Aldie.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Aldie already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Aldie breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog/Collie breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog/Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Aldie paves the way for another one to be saved.
