Lightening's Story...
ADOPTED!!!

Lightening – male, neutered, vaccinated to date inclu. Rabies, 1yrs, ~15/14" tall lbs, Sheltie/Bichon Frise.

Lightening’s family has moved and can no longer financially care for him properly. Lightening’s housemate is Thunder but they do not need a home together.

Though Lightening is Bichon mix he SHEDS like the Sheltie so he is not suitable for allergy sufferers. Lightening’s coat should be brushed on a regular basis to prevent matting which can cause hot spots for some dogs. Lightening is an active, bouncy boy who loves a good walk each day. He knows basic commands and walks on a harness and could improve on his leash manners. Lightening has not been able to play with many dogs lately and is easily distracted by other dogs, he will bark and pull towards them in an effort to socialize and play. Lightening lives with another dog, cats and children whom he all interacts well with – he LOVES kids and always has lots of kisses and tail wags for children. He has not been getting enough exercise and has taken to barking at other animals on walks or when they pass by his home while he is tied in the front yard. Lightening would love to find an active person to get his Sheltie brain and busy body working so that he focuses and feels he has a “job”. Shelties love to work and learn so Lightening would be a great jogging, hiking or rollerblading pal, he would also likely excel in further obedience training and learning all the funny dog tricks you can teach him. Lightening is house trained and crate trained and sleeps in a crate at night and when left alone. Lightening loves to play fetch. This boy has so much potential for so many things, an active owner who is looking for an intelligent, trainable, loyal dog is just what Lightening needs. He is a healthy, energetic dog that is eager to find a home with a fenced yard for him to run around in, he’d love a long walk each day and play time too! Lightening is best suited to a house with a fenced yard as he does need the time in the yard for fresh air and to get a little energy out.
