Penguin's Story...
Penguin is an adorable black & white, part Persian kitten, with an approximate date of birth of May 1, 2005. She was turned over to the shelter by the police when they found her deceased owner - how sad!! She is very loving and PURRS incessantly when held. Penguin is looking forward to bonding with you - we will preadopt Penguin to the right home, and we will try to have her ready to go on the July transports, or we can keep her for you until the August transports or until you want to pick her up at the shelter. Age appropriate shots and alteration are included in the adoption donation (minimum $40; more gratefully accepted!) Can't come to Republic? Don't let that stop you! If you find the pet of your dreams, Forget-Me-Not will find a way to connect you! There may be a small transport fee, usually ranging from $10 - $40, for delivery outside our immediate area. Check www.forgetmenotshelter.org for more photos of this pet, and to find out about our next scheduled transports to Seattle, Spokane and other points.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Penguin, a Republic Persian kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Persian for sale in Republic, or seeking a Persian kitten from a breeder in Republic.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Republic already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Republic breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Persian breeders who help with Persian rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Republic paves the way for another one to be saved.
