Gaskins's Story...
Gaskins is a Basset/Beagle Mix that has lost his family. He was next on the euthanasia list at an Animal Control facility down south when a volunteer from the local humane society contacted us just in time! There was no room at their Inn but we found a way to squeeze him in with us - they named him after Stacy (our Founder, Stacy Gaskins) because she saved his life. He is wonderful with everyone and everything. The foster family is in love with him but the bigger dogs keep picking on him and that has resulted in too many trips to the vet to have him sewn up, he just isn't safe with the big guys because he is so small and is older. He would make an excellent senior companion because he is so quiet and loves to cuddle. PLEASE open your heart to him and love him!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Gaskins, a Frankfort Basset Hound/Beagle dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Basset Hound/Beagle for sale in Frankfort, or seeking a Basset Hound/Beagle dog from a breeder in Frankfort.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Frankfort already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Frankfort breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Basset Hound/Beagle breeders who help with Basset Hound/Beagle rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Frankfort paves the way for another one to be saved.
