Poppy's Story...
Poppy's time ran out at a high-kill shelter, so we were able to transfer her to Cat Rescue. She is a very sweet girl with a "squeak" meow, and she has great big eyes that always make her look surprised. She does not tolerate other cats so needs to be the only pet. She is gentle and good natured, and she loves her big, fluffy bed. Right now, she could use daily brushing to help her avoid hairballs, but her fur does not mat up, so you'll be able to take care of her brushing without professional grooming. She would be wonderful, attentive company in your home, and is the perfect girly girl!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Poppy, a Petersburg Domestic Longhair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Longhair for sale in Petersburg, or seeking a Domestic Longhair cat from a breeder in Petersburg.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Petersburg already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Petersburg breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Longhair breeders who help with Domestic Longhair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Petersburg paves the way for another one to be saved.
