My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

It is suspected that Melvin sustained trauma to his right eye some time ago. It was never treated. As a result, Melvin has been living with no vision in that eye and possible discomfort. After close examination, it was concluded the eye had to come out to stop any possible complications as he ages. Melvin has gotten very used to vision in one eye only! He runs around happily, just as well as any dog! His special need does NOT slow him down!


Melvin is about 5 years old. He is a sturdy, small jack russell, but all muscle. Melvin is a social boy and likes people and other dogs 'ok'...he will tolerate living with them, but we think he'd prefer not to, and just have some doggie play dates. Melvin has met several male dogs and gets along fine. It is unknown how he is with cats. Melvin is not a barker, not overly high energy. He loves squeaky toys and will play with them for long periods! He likes to walk on a leash and except for constant sniffing...he is great out on walks.


Melvin has been neutered, vaccinated and heart worm tested. He is ready to find a wonderful forever home. Please dont' over look him due to his deformity...he would like a home just as much as any dog! His adoption fee is $300.
