My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

UPDATE--You can now meet Ben in person at the Muncie PetSmart. Ben is a wonderful young man! He is a big and cuddly love bug. He was born on approximately May 1, 2007. He was adopted in Sept '07 but returned to us in Nov '09. He was returned because he was having problems with two stress related physical problems. His household had been rocked by an illness with one of the people and then, an extended illness and death of one of the other family pets. Ben was completely stressed out and began having issues with FIC (Feline Idiopathic Cystitis). This is an irritation of the bladder and urinary tract that causes painful urination, which in turn, can cause a cat to not use the litterbox correctly. They tried to alleviate his symptoms and treat him, however, the stress levels in the home did not decrease and he could not cope. Right as he was returned to us, he developed the other stress related condition. This is called "spongy feet syndrome" or Feline Plasmacytic Pododermititus. The pads of his feet became swollen and very spongy. He has been treated with steriods for this condition, and it is improving. His stress levels are far less in his foster home and his last urine test was negative for crystals and blood. Also, since he has been in his foster home, he has not ever not used the litterbox appropriately. He is doing absolutely wonderfully. He is calm, he is friendly, and he is ready to go to a new home where he can be the great cat that he was meant to be! He can try to bully other cats, especially quiet females but, in general, he does well with other cats and dogs and he loves kids. He is also front declawed. All Ben needs is a family who is willing to be patient with him and follow up on his stress related condtions to make sure they don't flare up or if they do, treat them right away so that they don't cause further issues.
