Our main site:

These dogs are representative of the wieners that we have at our rescue, Dachshund Rescue NW. We have been rescuing since 1991 and placed 132 in 2015 alone. We have now placed over 1325 of them since we started our dog rescue in 1991. Many folks come back to adopt from us again and again. Our dogs are always guaranteed so we make sure they are in the right homes.

Check out our Facebook page as well as our Better Business Bureau rating of A+ since we started this rescue.

Sorry, we do not ship our dogs out of the area. Folks need to come to us to adopt. We do not have time to sit in parking lots like puppy mill breeders. Plus we want to make sure the dogs all get along so we encourage folks to bring their dogs for a meet and greet here. We also do test drives and take back if not working and trade for another one if needed.

We do secure fenced yards in town and do not adopt to apartments, condos or townhomes usually as this is a hunting dog breed and they need exercise. We do dopt to farms without fencing when this breed has room to run. Dachshunds are not recommended for children under age 7. They do have large voices so too noisy for most apartment or condos situations. Most of the dogs in this breed are active and are rarely couch pillows.

Please do your breed research before adopting any dog or mix. Thanks.

About Dachshund Rescue NW & Dachshund Club of Spokane

About Our Rescue Group...

We were Dachshund breeders for 25 years until we started our rescue in 1991. All our dogs are personality guaranteed, we do test drives and take them back if not working out. They are all fixed, UTD on shots and worming, pretrained and we warn folks about any personality glitches we find so they know what they are adopting from us.

We have adopted or help to adopt over 1500+ dogs since 1991. We place on average 125+ dogs each year and placed 157 dogs in 2016 alone, a new record for us. But we turn away around 500+ each year so we do what we can to help the pet overpopulation by spaying and neutering all our adoptable pets before placement.

Please read our web site for our adoption contract, waiting list form and adoption policies before getting in touch. We are already answering 500+ emails a day with this rescue. Thank you.

Our dog rescue is located at the director's farm northwest of Spokane. There is no bus service here. Directions are given once an appointment is made in advance and once our pre-adoption paperwork is filled in so we can match dogs to their new families.
