These dogs are representative of the wieners that we have at our rescue, Dachshund Rescue NW. We have been rescuing since 1991 and placed 90 in 2012 alone.

Please see this web site for a list of our currently adoptable pets at: http://www.drnw.petfinder.org

Sorry, we do not ship our dogs out of the area.

We also do a site inspection for secure fenced yards and do not adopt to apartments usually as this is a hunting dog breed and they need exercise. They are not recommended for children under age 7 and have large voices so too noisy for most apartment or condos situations. Most of the dogs in this breed are active and are rarely couch pillows. Please do your breed research before adopting any dog or mix. Thanks.

About Dachshund Rescue NW & Dachshund Club of Spokane

About Our Rescue Group...

We were Dachshund breeders for 25 years until we started our rescue in 1991.

We have adopted or help to adopt 900+ dogs since 1991. We place on average 75 dogs each year and placed 90 dogs in 2011 alone, a new record for us. But we turn away around 500 each year so we do what we can to help the pet overpopulation by spaying and neutering all our adoptable pets before placement.

Please read our web site for our adoption contract, waiting list form and adoption policies before getting in touch on our web site. Thank you.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Visitors by appointment only and closed on Wednesdays. If new to the breed then we will do a home visit. We do have folks come to visit the dogs and the dogs have a say in who adopts them.

We also accept any purebred Dachshund needing a home at any time in the Pacific Northwest. Please call if this is an emergency placement. Please call our home phone at 509-796-2140 but please do not call this number to adopt one. Please read our web site for adoption information.

Our Adoption Process...

Our adoption fees vary depending on how much is spent on the dog. Please read all the details about our adoption process on our main web site at http://www.spokanewienerdogs.org on our To Adopt page before getting in touch with us. Many questions are already answered on our web site. Thank you.
