found a new home!
Plenty of my friends are looking
for one too. Find a pet to adopt.
I am up to date with shots, good with kids, and good with dogs.
Pepper was pulled with her best friend (and we are told sister) Dakota from a high kill shelter the day before she was scheduled to be euthanized. Pepper is only 8 months old and had a very rough start to her little life! We believe she was used as pitbull fighting bait :( She came to us with open wounds on her little head and so emaciated (weighing only 18 lbs!!!) and dehydrated that she almost did not survive. With lots of medical attention and love, Pepper has not only turned the corner but is now a healthy 35 lbs. (cute puppy belly included!), happy, energetic little girl! She was treated for hookworms and infected bite wounds, and is finishing up treatment for demodectic mange (not contagious). She lost most of her hair in the recovery process but it is all growing back so nicely now!
Pepper is a black lab mix, probably with pointer as we believe that is what her sister is mixed with too, if they are indeed sisters. She weighs about 32 lbs. and has a little more growing to do, but not much. She has been extensively temperament tested and seems great with other dogs despite all she's been through, and she LOVES children and people in general! Now that she is feeling good, she has lots of puppy energy and so a large fenced yard is recommended.
Pepper is up to date on all her shots and has been dewormed (many times over!). She is heartworm and Lyme Disease negative! She will continue to get oral medication for mange until all symptoms are completely gone and her immune system is all the way back to healthy, but otherwise, Pepper is doing GREAT and is looking for a forever home. She hopes she can go to a new home with Dakota, but understands that may not be possible. She will be spayed and microchipped prior to adoption unless a spay contract is in place due to limited surgery availability over the holidays.
