Hi there, my name is Inky and I'm not just "another black cat"! I'm the official shelter "greeter" Practically the minute you come visit the shelter, I will say "Hello" and jump up on your shoulder (If I think you're a special person).
I'd do the same thing for you at home - welcome you and ask how your day had gone. After just a little while, I'll give you a big hug! Naturally I'd like to have a great big hug in return! Ain't love grand!!!
Inky is one of the most incredible cats we've ever known. He was trapped as a kitten - a bit older than we usually try to socialize, but he's the most loving cat with a personality that steals your heart the moment you meet him.
Even though he is completely content and well loved here at the shelter, Inky doesn't know there is something as wonderful as a forever home and a best friend that will love and care for him for the rest of his life. He certainly deserves it and no matter how much love and care Inky is given, he will give back that and more. You'll actually receive more from him than you could possibly give.

Inky isn't one of the cats we take to PetSmart, so you'll have to come to the shelter to meet him. Please believe me, you've never met a cat like Inky.

At Altered Feral State, we work with feral cat colonies. All of our kittens were removed from the colonies and completely socialized when they are less than 8 weeks old. We don't offer them for adoption until they have been tested, vaccinated and spayed or neutered.
Our adoption fee of $50 only covers a very small portion of our costs, but to us, it's all about finding the best home for these wonderful kitties.
