Lana's Story...
Lana is a very sweet 8 year old cat. She doesn’t really like other cats, but she will co-exist with them. She doesn’t mind dogs, either. She is an extremely affectionate cat. When I first brought her home, I showed her the litterbox, food and water, and went to lay down because it had been a long day. I was shocked when, 3 minutes later, she jumped on the bed and snuggled with me. I had just met her, and she had lived for several years with her previous owner, yet she adjusted to life in a new home almost immediately.

This older lady could still have a decade in her, please consider giving her a forever home too! Visit www.cofas.org for more information or to fill out an application. You can also e-mail us at cats@cofas.org

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Lana, a Greensboro Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Greensboro, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Greensboro.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Greensboro already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Greensboro breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Greensboro paves the way for another one to be saved.
