Here's what the humans have to say about me:
They call me "Hut". I used to hang out at the Pizza Hut on Rossville Blvd. Maybe you saw me there when you went to get a pizza? I was the one who would come up to you, but just out of arm's reach. I always hung around to see if anyone would give me a bite of their pizza. That was my weakness as you will see later in my story. As far as the Pizza Hut people know, I appeared out of nowhere over a year ago. It looked like a good place to get food and raise my families. I had 3 litters of kittens over that length of time. They didn't do too well, though.
Lots of people tried to get me to go with them, but I was too afraid of what they might do to me, so I just got close enough to see what they had to eat and then grabbed it and ran away. Well, one day someone came with a metal box. They set it close to where I liked to hide out. I had to check it out since it might have something to eat in it. Sure enough, I could smell something yummy. It was a whole slice of pizza! I just had to see if it was my favorite kind. Before I knew it, the door closed and I was trapped. I was hauled off to another building and put in a cage.
Next thing I knew I woke up with a shaved belly and my tummy hurt. Then I was taken to yet another house. I was very scared and didn't know what would happen to me now. I was put in another cage, but it was bigger with shelves to climb on. Someone gave me lots of different kinds of food (no pizza, though) and talked to me a lot. I was going to ignore this person till I figured out what was going on. Several times a day she came and looked at me. If I needed food and water she would give it to me and she would always talk to me and touch my back so gently. Finally I decided she was okay, so I started talking back to her. Then I gave her a little head butt and we became friends.
I'm really liking this indoor life. The street life was exciting, but it was cold and lonely and I never knew where my next meal was coming from. Now I am warm and never lonely and never hungry. I like hanging out with my cat friends and I also like people now that I know they aren't going to hurt me. I've been told that what I need is a home of my own. That sounds wonderful. I wonder where I can get one of those? Can you help me out?
