ADDITIONAL PHOTOS & VIDEO COMING SOON!

Hi- I'm DORIS! I'm spayed, up to date on shots, tested negative for both FIV and FeLv (feline leukemia), housetrained/litterbox trained and I have been treated for the prevention of ear mites, fleas and worms. I am approx. 10 years young, therefore I am considered a "senior kitty"- but don't think I'm an old lady! Did you know Advocates 4 Animals Rescue has a feline who is 23 years old...so I have lots of good years ahead of me still! And because I am a senior kitty- my adoption fee is FREE with an approved adoption application.

I am friendly, loving and devoted...I prefer a home with no other cats because I love to have lots of attention and love and I love to be your favorite! I would do best in a calm home and a home that will give me lots of love and attention- I love to be petted and to sit with you! I have a tiny little teddy bear toy that is my favorite and sometimes I carry it around in my mouth and play with it. When you adopt me- I will be sure to bring my cute toy with me too!

I am listed as special needs because the vet says I have pemphigus-- which is rare in cats, but I have it. This just means that sometimes small patches of my hair fall out- it is not painful to me and I take prednisone medication (a tiny pill) when I need to and that really helps. So sometimes I have a small patch of hair missing here and there-- but my foster family tells me it adds to my character! They tell me I am adorable all of the time- and I don't mind the compliment.

If you would like to learn more about me or my rescue story- or if you are interested in adopting me (I sure can't wait to meet you!) please fill out an online adoption application or contact Advocates 4 Animals via email today! Thanks for reading my story and for caring about me...

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Doris, a Xenia Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Xenia, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Xenia.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Xenia already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Xenia breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Xenia paves the way for another one to be saved.
