My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

My name is Bria, I'm sure my shelter mom is having a difficult time writing my story, so I'll help her out. My brother, Brady, and I were trapped when we were a little older than usual to come to the shelter. We weren't exactly part of a feral colony - there were no other cats. I'm not sure how we ended up where we did, but when they caught us, they hoped we'd be sweet kitties and find our forever homes.

Well, we are both sweet kitties, just still a little scared. At first I thought I had to hiss at anyone who tried to touch me, but I've learned that touching and hugging is really very nice and today, I did something new for first time - I purred - a lot!

While my shelter mom held me and loved me it felt so good I just couldn't hold back any longer. I closed me eyes, leaned as close as I could to her and just kept purring. It was grand! She told me that this is what life could be like if we can find the right person to hold and love me all my my life. I know my shelter mom would, but I'd have to live here. She told me that you have a whole house we could share and life will be truly wonderful.

Is it true that you would take me to my very own home with you? I'd like that. It might take a little while for me to get settled. I'm not really a fierce kitty - that's just my disguise. It's okay if you see through my bluff and come to the shelter to meet me - I'd like to meet you. Maybe we can have a happy and loving life together - What do you think? Just call here and ask how to meet me. I'll be waiting to hear from you.

You can call the shelter for an appointment to meet me, or come to PetSmart in Conyers or Bethlehem for a meet and greet.

None of us are exactly at our very best at PetSmart, but that's just because we're used to having lots of love and fun at our shelter home and going to PetSmart with all the loud noises and bright lights is a little scary. Still, you can see how handsome I am and that I'd be really great as your new forever best friend.

At Altered Feral State, we work with feral cat colonies. All of our kittens were removed from the colonies and completely socialized when they are less than 8 weeks old. We don't offer them for adoption until they have been tested, vaccinated and spayed or neutered.

Our adoption fee of $75 only covers a very small portion of our costs, but to us, it's all about finding the best home for these wonderful kitties.
