Noel's Story...
Hello, my name is Noel!

....and I am absolutely ADORABLE. I am a 5 month old, female Husky mix. Yes, that's right, HUSKY. And I am one lucky puppy. A kind person found me running loose and took me in. She then approached the wonderful people at GHGSDR and asked if they'd take me into their program. They did! Me! A Husky! So now here I am, part of this wonderful group, as their token Husky, looking for my forever home.

My foster mom says I have the sweetest and most gentle nature. I have a beautiful little face and I like nothing more than to sit right next to my people and snuggle as close to them as I can. In fact, I have this really cute little thing I do where I put my chin on Mom's shoulder and just stare at her with love. It is very endearing and one of the many factors that make me simply adorable.

I have not yet learned too many tricks. Mom says learning to "sit", whatever that is, will start soon. I do come when I'm called. I learned that from my foster GSD sister. We go out together and run and play and when mom calls, we go straight to her. I feel so important having a Mom to run to. I also walk on the leash quite nicely, although every now and then I lean into it and start pulling that imaginary sled. But hey, what do you expect....I'm a Husky mix! One very important thing I have learned to do is get my feet wiped when I come inside. It's so cute, even if I must say so myself. When I enter the house, I immediately stop and drop on the towel that's been placed on the floor; I roll on my side and I get my feet wiped cleaned. As soon as all four are done, I jump up and am on my way. Adorable!

I tend to be a little timid in most situations and I really depend on my mom and foster GSD sis to keep me safe. Anything new can easily overwhelm me. When this happens I tend to retreat. Because I am timid, the best family is a quiet, gentle one; perhaps a husband and wife or a single adult. As much as I like people, a lot of active kids might be too much for me. I do get along great with other dogs but an aggressive alpha dog might be too much for me, as well. And I like cats. They are just the right size to play.

I am a puppy with all the behaviors that come with being a puppy. I’m not yet housebroken and I still don’t quite know all the boundaries, but I am just so sweet and adorable, my puppy faults tend to be overlooked. Cute and adorable go a long way!

So if you are looking for an absolutely adorable, affectionate, sweet puppy with a beautiful face; if you have a quiet home; if you can handle puppy behavior; and if you like the idea of a adopting GHGSDR’s token Husky…come visit me. You’ll be glad you did.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Noel, a Houston Husky puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Husky for sale in Houston, or seeking a Husky puppy from a breeder in Houston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Houston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Houston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Husky breeders who help with Husky rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Houston paves the way for another one to be saved.
