Meow! My name is Pearl (FeLV+)
Pearl (FeLV+)'s Info...
|Breed:||Domestic Shorthair||Color:||Black (All)||Age:||Adult|
I am already spayed, housetrained, a special needs pet, up to date with shots, good with dogs, and good with cats.
UPDATE 1/11/10- Pearl and her mother Lacey are now residing at the fabulous Animal's in DIstress shelter in coopersburg PA. They have many Felv+ cats waiting for homes so please visit them to meet Pearl, Lacey or any of the special cats available.
12/14/09 Pearl is one of 5 Feline Leukemia Positive cats that came from the same home. She is a sleek black female that once roamed indoor/outdoor and often greeted the neighbors in her city home by 'knocking' on their front doors and asking for treats.
Pearl is a estimated to be 2 years old. She is a short-haired black female, the daughter of lovely Lacey and the mother of the adorable kittens Monique, Jet and Silver. All 5 cats lived peacefully in the same home that they shared with other cats and a large dog. They have been in foster care together since Oct of 2009.
Pearl is spayed, FeLV +, FIV -, vaccinated and dewormed.
Pearl can go to a home with other FeLV + cats, dogs or other non feline pets. She would prefer to be adopted with her lovely long haired mother Lacey if possible.
Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.
Please note: The Cat Shack rescue is all volunteer and the adopted cats are delivered to your home. Because we deliver the cats to you, we must restrict the adoptions of our highly adoptable cats to a 1 hour drive from the Allentown PA area. In certain situations, 'special-needs' cats, ferals and older cats will be adopted to homes at a greater distance then a 1 hour drive from Allentown PA.
The first step to adoption is to fill out an on -line application.

Young KITTENS are always adopted in Pairs or to homes with other felines already in the home.

All cats are vaccinated, dewormed, tested and altered as part of the adoption contract.
This basic care (and other vet work required to make our rescues healthy) is included in the $85 adoption donation!
Rescue Group Info...
The Cat Shack is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization staffed by volunteers.
We keep all of our rescued cats until they get adopted and will treat all medical issues identified by our vets. All of our pets are fostered in the homes of volunteers and we utilize our adoption centers in the PetsMart in Whitehall PA, the Petvalu in East Greenville and and Petvalu in Quakertown to help us find homes for our rescued pets.
Our group also has a very active Trap/Neuter/Return (TNR) program where feral cats are altered and returned to their original location to live out their lives without reproducing.
We always have many cats and kittens listed on our website at www.thecatshack.com, plus we have adoption centers where you can meet some of our cats live in the following locations:
PetsMart in Whitehall PA, the Petvalu in East Greenville and and Petvalu in Quakertown.
We ask our adopters to fill out a brief application. We seek adopters that will provide a loving home for the life of the pet with proper vet care.
The Cat Shack adoption contract states that the adopter will keep the cat safe, provide vet care and will return the cat to the Cat Shack rescue if the owners find that they can no longer keep their pet.
The Cat Shack adoption fee is $75 and includes FeLV/FIV testing, vaccines, deworming, the spay or neuter plus any other medical issues needed. This often includes dentals and other expensive vet work.
We typically adopt our animals to homes within a 1 hour drive from the Allentown PA area, although we will drive longer distances for special needs adoptions.
