Ringo's Story...
Ringo is an incredibly loving, gentle and intelligent dog. As of August, he has now completed his basic obedience training through the PenPals program and has now moved onto higher level obedience and is also learning some fun tricks. Ringo has picked up on all new commands very quickly and usually has everything "aced" before the other dogs are just "getting it." Ringo is sometimes playful but generally enjoys the companionship of his human friends. Ringo is not an over-bearing dog at all and does not bother anyone for attention but he does enjoy getting petted! This sweet well mannered dog is sensitive to loud noses like thunder and seeks out his crate during thunder storms. Ringo gets along great with all kinds of people and other dogs. We believe that he would be gentle with cats because he is so cat-like himself in that he is smart and sensitive. Although he would be gentle with children, he may not be as playful as they would like him to be. Ringo would be happiest in a quiet home and would be an excellent therapy dog candidate.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Ringo, a Glen Allen Retriever (Unknown Type)/Border Collie dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Retriever (Unknown Type)/Border Collie for sale in Glen Allen, or seeking a Retriever (Unknown Type)/Border Collie dog from a breeder in Glen Allen.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Glen Allen already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Glen Allen breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Retriever (Unknown Type)/Border Collie breeders who help with Retriever (Unknown Type)/Border Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Glen Allen paves the way for another one to be saved.
