My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Ray Charles: 2-3 yr old black & tan male, neutered, docked tail and cropped ears. 14", 13 lb. Shots up-to-date. Rescued from shelter.
Meet Ray Charles: One handsome hunk of a dog, super friendly and easy going, a real sweetheart. Ray just happens to be blind, but I'm not sure he really gives a hoot about that. We had him for over 24 hours before we even noticed something a bit different about him. He is amazingly well adapted to this disability, has learned to use all his other senses to seemingly map and memorize his environment. Ray inspires us with his playful, joyful exuberance. In our home Ray has been affectionate and respectful to all humans and canines. He did get a bit excited when introduced to the resident cat, but let's be fair, this cat weighs almost 20 lbs and takes no backtalk from any Min Pin. Ray has been quite willing to do his "business" outside despite the fact that the temp is in single digits and the yard is covered with ice and snow. He'll happily sleep in a crate, in his own bed, or in the big bed with the rest of the family, sleeps like a rock either way. We have fallen hard for this charmer and are looking for a very special forever home for our Ray Charles. The lucky family who adopts Ray will be blessed and inspired.
Note: The haziness in Ray's eyes in the photo is a camera effect. In reality, Ray has beautiful deep dark eyes and when he locks onto you with his nose and ears, you'd swear he was looking right at you.
Ray Charles is located in Lee's Summit, MO - and we will not fly this boy.
