Dexter's Story...
Dexter is a handsome purebred yellow male Lab who is about 1 1/2 years oldand weighs about 60 lbs. He loves other dogs and is very playful. He is a medium energy guy and loves to go for walk or runs with his foster mom.

Dex came to us from a shelter where he did not have much of a chance at adoption. This shelter tries so very hard and is such a well run place, but they have little budget and even though they are very caring people end up putting many dogs to sleep because of the economy. We did not want to see Dexter in that situation so we pulled him and about 6 other Labs from this shelter too. We are so happy to be in a position to help!

Dexter is neutered and up to date on his vaccines. He is heartworm negative and ready to go to anew and loving family. Please apply to give Dexter his one holiday wish; a new family!

If you would like to adopt Dexter, please submit an adoption application from our website, and see our other great Labs who are looking for their forever homes, happy tails, and more!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Dexter, a Boston Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Boston, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Boston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Boston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Boston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Boston paves the way for another one to be saved.
