Emma's Story...
A good Samaritan had been feeding Emma at her apartment complex for several months, and had hoped to take her in, but finances and her existing cat determined that this was not to be. She placed Emma with TJR just before some of the coldest weather in Austin in over a decade.

Emma must have had human contact sometime in the past, because she loves to be petted and is very loving. However, she does not seem to know what cat toys are, so it's not clear if she had ever been in a real home. She does not care for other cats, and would be happiest as the only nonhuman animal in her family. She would make a wonderful addition to a loving family.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Emma, a AUSTIN Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in AUSTIN, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in AUSTIN.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in AUSTIN already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a AUSTIN breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in AUSTIN paves the way for another one to be saved.
