Axis's Story...
Axis is a 5 year old Black Female. She is not cat tolerant.

Hello, my name is Axis. I like long walks around my foster Dad’s neighborhood. Humans are my most favorite things in the world right now. They are all so cool. I love meeting new humans all the time. My foster Dad said that I am doing very well in the house considering I have never been in one before. There are some amazing things in the house. I thought the animals on this thing called a TV were real. Dad explained they were not “real” and that I should not try to run up to them. He also explained that I should stop putting my nose on the ovens because they sometimes get hot and it could hurt if I touched one when it was hot. Ooh, guess how many days it took me to learn how to use the doggie door? If you guessed three, then you are correct. Dad said I am very smart. Apparently some other dogs took much longer. That is silly. It is so easy to learn. So far, everything about living in a house has been easy for me. Oh, hang on, Dad wants to talk now.

Hi Folks! Just a few more things about Axis. She may be 5 years old, but she does not act like it. She has learned so quickly all the new things about living in a house. Yes, I did almost have a heart attack the first time she made a bee line for my large screen TV when she saw an animal on the screen, but she learned quickly what the word NO means! It has been so great to watch her come out of her shell. She is learning to play with the other dogs and the funniest thing to watch is her playing with the stuffed toys. She does get very excited when you get home or when you wake up in the morning. I will warn you, she bares her front teeth at these times, it is her version of a grin. It is very cute.

Almost forgot. There is one very special thing about her. On the very top of her head there are two thin white marks where she has been kissed by an Angel. We like to think it was her Guardian Angel watching over her.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Axis, a Dallas Greyhound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Greyhound for sale in Dallas, or seeking a Greyhound dog from a breeder in Dallas.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Dallas already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Dallas breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Greyhound breeders who help with Greyhound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Dallas paves the way for another one to be saved.
