Dottie's Story...
Dottie is a very sweet, super affectionate Dalmatian mix. She looks to be middle aged. She and her buddy Comanche would love to stay together, though they can be adopted separately. They came into the shelter as strays together and owners were never found. They are sweet dogs and deserve a second chance at a happy home! Right now they are in a boarding kennel and really miss being in a home.

Update: Jan 01 2010
Dottie is a 6 year old Dalmatian mix. She is in excellent health and a very nice companion. Dottie walks great on the leash, is house trained and a very polite dog. Dottie would make a great companion for a single person or a retired couple. Dottie is also great with kids.

Dottie has been with us for a while, as older dogs are often overlooked. I promised her this would be "her" year to find her forever family.

This pet comes with a 30-day gift of Sheltercare pet insurance, the number one brand of pet insurance for adopted pets. Over 3 million adopted pets have already been insured!

Rescue Group Info...

About Our Rescue Group...
Lucky Dog Rescue came into existence after one individual started saving one dog at a time back in late March of 2004. It began as a Dalmatian rescue, originally named Phoenix Dalmatian Station.

After seeing so many nice, highly adoptable dogs sitting in concrete cells in the county shelters, being put to sleep when no one came to the rescue, it quickly evolved into an all breed commitment, and we began saving several other breeds and mixes too! We are now a growing group of dog lovers who help all breeds and are committed to giving dogs a second chance at finding a forever home.

Come Meet Our Pets...
Our dogs can be seen at weekly adoption events throughout the valley or by appointment. Please visit http://www.luckydogrescue.org for the most current information.

Our Adoption Process...
Our current adoption fee for adults (> 8 months old) is $200 and for puppies (< 8 months old) the fee is $250. The Adoption fee for senior dogs (7+ years) is $150. These fees cover the shots, microchipping, neuter/spay surgery and vet check for the dog.

Before an adoption can take place we do require that all potential adopters fill out an application. Once the application has been approved a home visit may be conducted. All adopters must sign a contract in order to finalize the adoption.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Dottie, a Scottsdale Dalmatian dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dalmatian for sale in Scottsdale, or seeking a Dalmatian dog from a breeder in Scottsdale.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Scottsdale already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Scottsdale breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dalmatian breeders who help with Dalmatian rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Scottsdale paves the way for another one to be saved.
