Pepper's Story...
My name is Pepper -- I am a Cairn Terrier mix approximately 3 to 4 years in age. One of my foster Mom’s found me when I scratched on the door of a home where she was visiting … I was cold, hungry, thirsty and in much need of food, shelter and TLC. I have an independent personality and my forever family will need to be firm but not harsh with training and discipline. I am loyal and friendly, yet will probably take me some time to get used to my new forever owner … but with patience I will learn to trust and love you. I look like the “Toto” dog in the Wizard of Oz only black. My coat is naturally “shaggy” and I like to be brushed several times a week. I am also allergic to fleas, so it will be important for my forever family to keep me free of those pesky insects. I am an active little dog, who loves and needs my daily exercise. Since being with my foster Moms, I have not had the freedom of a fenced in yard to romp and play, so my daily long walks have taken care of a lot of my exercise needs. I get along with other dogs and cats. I am completely housebroken, crate trained and walk well on a lead. Come see me at Petco in Humble on Saturdays and see if I am a match for your family.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Pepper, a Humble Cairn Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Cairn Terrier for sale in Humble, or seeking a Cairn Terrier dog from a breeder in Humble.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Humble already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Humble breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Cairn Terrier breeders who help with Cairn Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Humble paves the way for another one to be saved.
