Comments:

Hi, my name is Midge. I’m just a little sMIDGEn (get it?)of a thing—about 40 pounds—and, boy, am I cute! I’m SO glad my owner wouldn’t pay the shelter fees to get me out after I got free of that awful place I used to live. The wonderful shelter folks called San Diego Bulldog Rescue where they are taking VERY good care of me. You see, my owner used me for breeding—a LOT of breeding. I was used and neglected. It's just so very sad. And he didn’t even bother to take care of my health. I had to have cherry eye surgery plus my poor eyes were so bad from neglect that the vet said I was probably 3 months away from going blind. I have some vision loss, but I get around really well. Now that I am getting treated for my dry eye condition, my eyes look and feel so much better! However, I will have to have medicated drops for my eyes for the rest of my life. I have one other problem (it’s a little embarrassing): my two rear teats are stretched out from all those babies so I need to have someone help keep me from getting “diaper rash.” I also need some help with learning where to go potty –I don’t like going on the grass. Other than that, I’m in great shape and I just love people and my foster brothers and sisters. Oh, there is one other thing you need to know about me. I don’t like sleeping alone. I keep trying to get in bed with one of my foster siblings, but they don’t seem to want company. How rude:-) I’d love to have a brother dog (or very, very submissive sister dog) to share a bed with—unless you’ll let me sleep with YOU!! Wouldn't that be great!
Please love me, give me my eye drops, help me with potty training and I promise to make you smile and laugh every day.
Love, Midge

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Midge, a San Diego English Bulldog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a English Bulldog for sale in San Diego, or seeking a English Bulldog dog from a breeder in San Diego.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in San Diego already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a San Diego breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even English Bulldog breeders who help with English Bulldog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in San Diego paves the way for another one to be saved.
