Twig's Story...
Hi! I'm Twig!

I suppose there's a reason I'm named Twig, but I don't know it so I can't tell my new shelter mom. I'm hoping that when you get to know me, you'll give me a really neat name that reflect my terrific personality.

I came here with some friends from another rescue hopeing to find my best friend forever - I wonder if it might be you...

I was rescued from an animal control shelter when I was a kitten, but didn't get the chance I needed to meet people so they could see what a handsome cat I am. For a while we were well cared for, but we really needed more of a chance to meet people, so the nice folks here at Altered Feral State said we could come live here.

They haven't taken me to PetSmart , but I've been there before and I don't really like it. very much. All the noise, dogs and people sort of make me nervous. My new shelter mom has said they'll try to find people who would like to come here and meet me. Do you think you'd like to come for a visit and say "Hi"? I hope so. It's easy, just call 770-712-8331 and tell them that you'd like to come see me - I'll be waiting for you.

At Altered Feral State, we work with feral cat colonies. All of our kittens were removed from the colonies and completely socialized when they are less than 8 weeks old. We don't offer them for adoption until they have been tested, vaccinated and spayed or neutered.

Our adoption fee of $50 only covers a very small portion of our costs, but to us, it's all about finding the best home for these wonderful kitties.

If you are interested in providing a home for Buff, please go to our website, download our adoption application and email it to us at afsga@att.net.

Twig, a Monroe Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Monroe, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Monroe.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Monroe already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Monroe breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Monroe paves the way for another one to be saved.
