Greta's Story...
Hello, my name is Greta. I am a blonde with black and cream German Shepherd Mix, probably with some Lab and maybe Siberian Husky.... and I have the most beautiful-heart shaped mask. My foster mom calls that special breed an East Dallas Imperial. I was born sometime in 2008. I am a former AAT dog who was adopted by what I thought was a forever family. Unfortunately for me my parents are getting divorced and they decided neither of them could take care of me any longer so they returned me to AAT.

Of course I have been spayed. I am also microchipped, heartworm negative and current on all of my shots. There is a mix of small and large dogs at my foster home, and I get along great with all of them. I'm not sure about cats, but I can say that I'm not real keen on the local ferals roosting on the front porch.

I have lots of love to share with my Foster Family, especially the boy who lives there. I enjoy car rides and spending time with my Foster family at work or at play. I am very insistent about mealtime, which is my favorite part of the day! I am very comfortable with my crate, but what I really love is to jump up on the big bed and stretch out for a nap in the afternoon sunshine that comes through the windows. Bath time is not a big deal anymore, I like all of the rubbing and attention!

I am a wonderful, big dog looking for a true Forever Family that likes big dogs, car rides and snuggle time. If you are interested in adopting me, GRETA please fill out an application today at http://www.animalalliesoftexas.org/adoption-application/.

About Our Rescue Group...
Animal Allies of Texas is a 501(c)(3) animal advocacy/rescue organization, dedicated to improving the quality of life in our community. Our goal is to build a no-kill shelter on enough land to house not only "adoptable" animals, but "treatable" ones as well - those who need medical care or behavior modification to become adoptable. While working toward this goal, we will also engage in community service and humane education projects to help bring about "humanity championed by thought."
Come Meet Our Pets...
We hold adoption events at one or more locations every week end. Please check the calendar on our web site www.animalalliesoftexas.org for specific locations and times.
Our Adoption Process...

Adopter MUST agree to return pet to AAT if he/she can no longer keep the pet or if AAT deems it to be in the best interest of the pet. An adoption agreement detailing these and other requirements must be signed to finalize adoption. Current fees are: dogs-$175, cats-$110. This covers all vaccinations, spay/neuter and microchipping.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Greta, a Garland German Shepherd Dog/Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog/Labrador Retriever for sale in Garland, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog/Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Garland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Garland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Garland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog/Labrador Retriever breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog/Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Garland paves the way for another one to be saved.
