History
Meet Lil Gomez and Alaska. What an adventure they have had. He and his best buddy Alaska had escaped from the car yard they had been kept at and then were found wandering the streets of Phoenix. They were hungry and scared and tried to protect themselves and each other from the elements of weather and a dog attack. Somehow and thankfully they ended up at animal care and control. Paw placement knew they had to save these dogs, they were so nice and loving. Alaska is a gorgeous Shepherd mix approx 2 yrs old. Lil Gomez is a 2 yr old chihuahua. Alaska is on antibiotics and ointment for a recovering skin laceration and Lil gomez is on antibiotics to help him heal from a vicious dog bite on his neck and leg. The Doc says Lil Gomez may always have a slight recurring limp from probably past trauma, but he gets along just fine. These dogs are so friendly and loving with dogs and children (Lil Gomez must go to a home where the children are over the age of 10). Ideally we would love to keep them together but it is not required. You must have a yard and lots of love for these boys who deserve a great life. You must be willing to commit through life changes and keep and care for them for their whole lives.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Lil Gomez, a Scottsdale Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in Scottsdale, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Scottsdale.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Scottsdale already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Scottsdale breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Scottsdale paves the way for another one to be saved.
