My name is Bob and I’m a 7 year old English Bully Dog. Although, I’m petite in size I have a huge heart ready to give you some lovin’, not to mention sloppy kisses. I am a healthy boy who is neutered, up to date on shots, heartworm free and will come to your home with a microchip transfer.

I am a prior CEBR rescue who has come back into their care because of an unfortunate incident. My prior adoptive dad still loves me to death and letting me move on broke his heart. The problem is, there is a new mommy in the home and several new cats. At first I seemed to be upset with them, but I didn’t act on it. My dad even had me signed up for training classes to help me with this adjustment. But before we could get to class I took out my frustration on one of the cats and hurt him. My dad and new mom had to make an extremely tough decision but I completely understand. So basically….NO CATS in my new home. I just don’t like them! Bah humbug!

Now, I’m spending time with my foster family who don’t have a cat (thank goodness for that) but they do have another bully and an American Staffordshire terrier (aka Pitbull). I get along swimmingly with them except that one of them riles me up and it makes me bark. That’s ok…we’re just talkin’!

My foster mom can’t get over how great I look for 7 years old – like a young stud. She insists I give her the recipe for how I age with grace. I like to think my last dad took great care of me and fed me well, watched my weight and minded my health. I mean, I can still run a bully marathon! I love to jaunt around and play so don’t get fooled by 7 years old. I have the bully body and spirit of a 3 year old!!!! I love to play tug-o-war with my rope and chase my tennis ball around.

I’m cute all the way around. I’m full of love and can give the bully attitude in a minute but divert me with treats and I’m all yours. I have great listening skills and I sit, stay, and give paw- all at once too!!! I like to jump on furniture but get off as soon I’m told to. I have pretty markings (so the ladies say) including black eye around my right eye. It makes me look tough. My fur is white around my neck then my back is brindle. I must say that I am exceptionally handsome.

I have a little ear infection right now but it’s clearing up. I don’t’ like to get my medication for my ear infection, I might just give you the “stink eye” but give me a treat and I shake it right off. Good as new!

My perfect forever home would be one with no cats and no kids for sure. I am too rambunctious around little kids and will try to hump them – my behavior changes around them so CEBR says no kids younger than their teens. I’m good with other dogs and I do play nice when going to the dog park. Just watch me with the ladies. I’m so handsome that I am irresistible to the ladies. Everywhere I go everyone wants to meet and pet me. I think I should start charging, that way I can have money for my favorite treats. I would like to have a yard so we can play fetch but living in the city and going to the dog park would be fine as that is where I have spent the last few years.

It’s time to say later as I don’t like goodbye.

Bob’s adoption fee is $450. Our adoption criteria for Bob are as follows:

  • CEBR Adoption Radius Only. NO EXCEPTIONS.
  • Absolutely positively NO CATS!
  • No children under 13.
  • Someone willing to give me lots of TLC and human time…play time with other dogs would be great too.
  • A family that won’t be annoyed with hearing my bark every now and again. I’m just trying to tell you how much I Woof You!

We are a pure-bred English Bulldog rescue located in the state of Illinois but serving the Midwest. To determine if you qualify to adopt one of our adorable bullies view our Adoption Criteria and Adoption Area Map.

We serve Chicago-proper and the surrounding suburbs, Illinois, Northwest Indiana, Southeastern Wisconsin including Milwaukee and now will accept intakes from Ohio and Missouri.

CEBR’s Directors and core volunteers are members of the Bulldog Club of America and the Bulldog Club of America Rescue Network. What that means for adopters, surrendering families and shelters is that our bullies get the highest level of care and commitment. They spend their time with us in foster homes where they get daily love and attention.

We are an Illinois licensed shelter and a 501c3 charitable organization. The care we provide our English bulldogs includes a high quality diet, the best veterinary care around (from a bulldog specialist!), and behavioral evaluations of the highest quality. Each of our rescued bullies typically costs CEBR more in care than the adoption fees we collect – on average $536 per bully. Your contributions to help care for our bullies would be so appreciated. CLICK HERE TO DONATE. All donations are tax deductible as provided by law.

Because we receive so many inquiries about our dogs, we’re sorry to say that we can’t follow up on all of them. If you are interested in one of our bullies, please complete an application by visiting and click on Apply To Adopt. We will not be able to respond to individual phone calls or emails.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Bob, a Park Ridge English Bulldog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a English Bulldog for sale in Park Ridge, or seeking a English Bulldog dog from a breeder in Park Ridge.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Park Ridge already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Park Ridge breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even English Bulldog breeders who help with English Bulldog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Park Ridge paves the way for another one to be saved.
