My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

I'm KitKat, a very special kitty who needs a very special person. I was found on the street; after being abandoned from what I thought would be my forever home, and had a hard life trying to learn to survive in the rough world on my own. I didn't do too well: I'm missing a few teeth and had an infected eye which was just removed – and I’m recouping very well. Everyone has been so nice to me since rescuing me but I am still very scared and will need a lot of patience as I need to learn to trust again.

I need a long-term foster home or, better still, an adopted forever home. with a patient, experienced person to help rehabilitate and socialize me, so I can trust again. I really want to have a loving family that I can cuddle with, that will love me and pet me -- but I am so scared it will take a little time. I am starting to make some progress with little interactions with my foster parents, like taking treats from their hands, playing, coming out into the open more, and mewling for my breakfast (they think that is so cute!). I really do want to become just a lap cat companion!

Unfortunately, my current foster caregiver is unable to house me for very long, so I need help in finding someone in the NYC-area who can take over. I'm FIV and FeLV negative (yay!), spayed, vaccinated. I want nothing more than to love and be loved. Will you be my Valentine? http://www.taviandfriends.org/id23.html
