Amelia's Info...

I am already spayed, a special needs pet, in need of an experienced adopter, up to date with shots, and declawed.

Amelia's Story...
Please contact Cathy (cathrynmcd@aol.com) for more information about this pet.

Amelia is a very large girl who is very pretty! She enjoys being petted and is declawed. She gives GREAT massages--no joke. She'll jump up on your lap and knead on you and in her old foster home she'd do it when her foster was in bed. It is so cute. She is a sweetie and loves being petted.  She doesn't enjoy her feet being touched--perhaps due to her being declawed. She is spayed and up to date on shots. **She seems to have some litter box problems which is why we have her as special needs. She will need a calm home, probably with no young kids or dogs, that can provide a LARGE litterbox. She overshoots sometimes. We are still hoping that the right person will come along who will give her another chance to prove that she is a good girl, but until that special person comes along, Amelia will have the adoption center to call her home! If you like Amelia but are unable to offer this special girl a home, please consider a donation for her care. You can meet her at our adoption center.

Our Adoption Process...

Adoption Process

Every kitten is tested for Feline Leukemia and adult cats are tested for Feline Leukemia and FIV. All cats are de-wormed, de-fleaed and have received a Distemper vaccine. With every adoption, we work with you to ensure every phase of introducing your kitten or cat into your home is smooth and pleasant.

Step One
After you have found the perfect fit, you will be asked to fill out a questionnaire. Your responses are reviewed and if the fit is good for both you and the kitty or cat, you move on to the next step which is the Adoption Agreement.

Step Two
The Adoption Agreement is the binding contract between you and Kindred Kitties for the adoption of your new family member. A tax deductible donation to Kindred Kitties is requested. You will be given a Certificate for a free health check and if the cat/kitten is not yet spayed, you will receive a Spay/Neuter Certificate offering discounts at a number of local veterinarians.

One Cat (over 1 year old) = $60.00 or two for $100.00

One Kittens (under a year) = $80.00 or two for $120.00

If spay/neuter date is within two weeks of adoption date, it will be included with adoption fee.

Step Three
Make sure you have everything you need for your new family member before you bring your kitten or cat home. A volunteer will be able to assist you. Here is a list of things you will need:

Litter pan, litter and scooper
Food (dry and/or wet) appropriate for the age of your kitty
Food and water bowls
Toys (for socializing)
Bed or blanket
A quiet secure room for them to become acclimated with their new home
Lots of love and affection
