My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, I'm Griffey. If I could speak human I'm certain I'd have a long sad story to tell. I'm at least 10 years old (maybe older) and for some unknown reason my family must have gotten tired of having me around because I was found wandering along the side of the road out in the country. I was lucky somebody found me and took me to the pound because I am blind and almost deaf and probably wouldn't have lasted long on my own. The pound never thought anybody would come to my rescue because I'm older and had some medical issues, but Shar Pei Savers saw past my "issues" and recognized what a very sweet boy I am and couldn't bear the thought of me being put to sleep. I'm enjoying an easy life in my foster home and my health issues are being addressed. I'll soon have surgery on my eyes and even though it's too late to restore my sight it will stop them from hurting all the time. I also have some skin issues, but hopefully with help from my new vet and my foster family those will be all fixed up in no time. I'm very sweet, but as an older gentleman, I take life at a VERY slow pace. Because I am blind and almost deaf, I can become anxious and confused in unfamiliar surroundings. I am fine with other dogs and don't bother the cats in my foster home. I am housebroken. I am OK with kids, but a home with older children would be best so nobody accidently falls on me or bumps into me. I also really need a home with no steps as they are very difficult for me to navigate. I'm quiet and peaceful and would love a warm couch to curl up on for the rest of my days. My foster family loves me dearly and promises they'll help me find just the perfect forever home.
